ARM Based Full Digital IGBT Inverter Power Supply for Fine Waveform Control of Short-Circuit CO2 Arc Welding

A high performance digital power supply for CO2 arc welding based on IGBT inverter and ARM controller is developed, which can output current and voltage parameters according to the different states during welding process. Experimental results proved that fine waveform controls of various stages such as initial short-circuit, liquid bridge transfer, pinch and arc burning are effective and welding quality is improved. The system is a fully digitized one and posses the capability of further upgrading and enhancement.

Dynamic Network SimulationI Using VPDNS

Abstract: Network virtualization simulation tools had become very useful in the process of testing different new algorithms to which they are going to be applied in the distributed systems. In our recent experiments on benchmarking and analysis of an online Transaction Processing (TP) monitor system, we realize the necessity of using a network simulation tool in order to generate middle and large scale traffics to be able to test its reliability and failure tolerance. We must be able to produce series of signals, as well as some kinds of traffic with different and complex behaviors, failures and other random actions that could possibly occur in real situations. In this paper, we analyze some of the popular network virtualization tools in order to find the most suitable application for our ongoing research project.

TMO-HILS Architeture for Real-Time Control System

To test and assist to build large real-time systems, engineering teams need a more uniform, integrated approach than it is available today. This paper propose a new architecture of HILS (Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation) named TMO-HILS which support real-time simulation, and also take the test of UAV object control system in TMO- HILS to give an example to explain the principle and data flow of TMO-HILS. The TMO-HILS provides the Virtual Environment depicted as right figure in which the objects may be tested with some missions to simulate some real test environment.

Current Software Platform on Mobile Phone

¡Ü Software platform of a system means the total structure of software on the system.
¡Ü Developing period of new handset depends on how fast handset makers develop the software or application.
¡Ü A software platform which provides all environment of application development brings to competitive power of the handset market.
¡Ü Open Software platform takes specific effect, which reduces the total developing period of new handset.
¡Ü Nokia has used Symbian based software platform and upgraded the platform to be more open platform.
¡Ü Motorola has standardized the linux platform through LiMo. LiMo is the foundation which Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic Mobile Communications, Samsung Electronics, and Vodafone established to develop the Linux based open software platform for handset fisrt in the world.
¡Ü This paper presented representative three software platform of handset and their respective features in point of view of product development. And we present the direction for which software platform of handset should go. Because profits are generated as reduction of developing period and BOM, most handset manufacturers have tried to change their software platform to open platform or have made new platform using Linux. Handsets made in open software platform will be offered in fast period. And handset developed by using open software platform will survive in the market

Application-Database Interface Design for the Real Time Simulator System

Abstract: In this paper, the design, development and evaluation of application-database interface (ADI) are presented. The main purpose of this study is that improving the simulation quality to get more realistic response of target system.The requirements and operation logics are obtained from real aircraft flight test database. And, stability & control, flight control, and aerodynamic engineering requirements are considered. Because original database structure was designed for aircraft characteristics realization in engineers¡¯ usage side, ADI needs to convert it to the new suitable structure for computational methods and provides mathematical operation algorithms. The expandability is considered to adapt ADI to other modeling target.The designed and developed major functions are flexible memory structure, efficient arithmetic database language, and the high speed interpolation / extrapolation algorithm.To evaluate the reliability and performance, ADI inserted to existing real time simulation software, and is tested for operation speed and accuracy of returned data.

A Study on GOOSE Communication based on IEC 61850 Using MMS Ease Lite

IEC 61850 ¡°Communication networks and systems in substation¡± is not only the most advanced and universal standard for communication but also a comprehensive system oriented standard for substation automation system (SAS). The feature of IEC 61850 is that it covers communication, qualitative properties of engineering tools, measures for quality management, and configuration management. Based on high speed peer to peer communications (publisher/subscriber concept), the Generic Object Oriented System Event (GOOSE) is a model to transmit status information in fast way to multi devices, and is applied to trips, blockings, and all indications for automatics. The paper presents a study about communications in SAS and supplies a detailed analysis of the process of transferring GOOSE message supported by MMS EASE Lite tool from the user¡¯s view point. The experiment results show the advantage of using such communication and MMS EASE Lite tool.
